K12 Content Management Project

In many small or rural locations the local school serves as a social pivot point for the community.
With funding
limitations in mind, solutions that allow schools to deliver attractive and functional websites need not be expensive. A community of developers offers amazingly detailed solutions for free. All it takes from there is a little sweat and thought to take it to the next level.
As a community service project a few ODLA members thought it might be neat to develop a prototype website for an imaginary Oklahoma school. This site was constructed using joomla, an open-source content management software. It literally took less than 80 hours to get the site to this point. The only out-of-pocket expense was for a template from JoomlaShack.
The site is hosted here: http://www.odla.org/k12project/
