2013 K-12 Professional Development & Technology Award
Award: $1,500.00

Description: Oklahoma Distance Learning Association invites all K-12 public schools to apply for funds to support professional development in their school. This money can be used to purchase equipment, software, or services to facilitate Professional Development needs, strengthening the academic experience, provide collaborative training on subjects like common core, shared teacher programs and other Oklahoma State applications.  Other applications may be considered if detailed explanations are given on how the money would be spent.

Oklahoma Distance Learning Association believes that professional training and growth is crucial for educators. Promoting best practices aimed at boosting student understanding and proficiency and instilling a passion for learning are essential for long term sustainability. As such, ODLA is offering this award to K-12 Schools for Professional Development programs.

An individual or team may submit an application stating how they would use this money to create Professional Development opportunities. The Oklahoma Distance Learning Association K-12 Teacher Professional Development & Technology Award provides funding to one K-12 school each year.  Schools must submit an application on how they would use this money.  Once awarded, the school has 90 days to show they are using the money to further Professional Development.  The grants provide opportunities for teachers to integrate collaborative teaching using various tech tools like iPads, iPhones, White Boards, clickers, web Conferencing etc…to encourage collaborative learning that will have direct impact on student success.  Teachers have the opportunity to reflect and write about their projects, as well as share their results with other teachers. ODLA will award this grant to the school that meets the eligibility requirements as stated.

This money can be used to purchase equipment, software, or services to facilitate Professional Development needs, strengthening the academic experience, provide collaborative training on subjects like common core, shared teacher programs and other Oklahoma State applications.  Virtual schools and other applications may be considered if detailed explanations are given on how the money would be spent
